For those guests looking for more than a day of relaxation at the Inn, the area offers a wide array of things to do:

Churchtown and Immediate Vicinity:

Historic Churchtown offers its own craft, antique and harness shops within walking distance of the inn. Covered bridges abound in our adjacent farming valleys. The backroads behind the inn offer scenic vistas for walking, jogging and biking. Visit our local Amish and Mennonite farm stands for fresh produce in season. Stop in an Amish farm and shop for beautiful hand made quilts. Take a buggy ride around the area. Nearby the Cloister in Ephrata offers tours of the original buildings which housed one of America’s earliest communal societies. French Creek State Park is a pristine natural setting in which to hike and picnic

Pumkins and Fresh Produce

Lancaster and Vicinity:

Lancaster County abounds in history and offers an array of tours and activities. Landis Valley Farm Museum offers a recreated village of PA German rural life with live craft demonstrations held daily. The Strasburg Railroad offers rides on America’s oldest shortline train. The Central Market in the city of Lancaster is America’s oldest publicly owned, continuously operated farm market. The historic town of Lititz is home to Wilbur Chocolates and a Plain hand made pretzel "factory." On nearby Rt. 340 in towns like Bird-in-Hand and Intercourse, Amish tourist attractions abound, with an array of local craft shops and PA Dutch foods.

Golf:

A Challenging 18 hole course is just minutes away at scenic Hawk Valley.  Tee times are available to the public for a nominal fee.  The 9-hole course at nearby Flying Hills caters to those interested in a shorter game

Outlet Shopping:

Upscale outlets are 20 minutes away in the city of Reading (America’a original outlet center) and 35 minutes away on Rt. 30 in Lancaster.

Antiquing:

Antique shops abound in our area. Just 15 minutes away, one of the largest antique markets in the country is held every Sunday in Adamstown, PA.



Amish People

Brandywine Valley:

Within an hour drive from the inn, the Brandywine Valley offers several terrific attractions. Longwood Gardens is the world-renowned horticultural display with formal gardens and a huge indoor conservatory. Brandywine River Museum houses an outstanding collection of original art from Andrew Wyeth and family. Winterthur offers tours of the premier collection of early American decorative arts in the Henry DuPont estate and a wonderful Yuletide tour.
